SmartWAX - The one and only

On the previous post, I mentioned that I would be covering a product-per-post to highlight each SmartWax product and its key features.  

The first and foremost product is, of course, the SmartWAX.  Just so there's no confusion; SmartWax stands for both the entire line of products and is also the signature product within the line.  

First up: SmartWax

SmartWax is one of the simplest, most effective tools in your cars paint protection arsenal.  If you only could have one product to care for your car, this would be the most diverse.

SmartWax:

- is easy to apply, easy to wipe off.  Absolutely no dusting, hazing or 'stickiness' when wiping off
- not only puts a nice coat of carnauba wax protection on your paint but also acts as a polish to remove and clean any contaminants that may be on the paint

One note about getting the best finish on your paint: No product is a 'be-all, end-all' or 'ultimate' product.  There is no such thing. Be wary of any product that claims such things. Of course there is a huge range of prices and 'quality' that is associated with it but don't always assume a higher price equals better results.  Results on your paint will vary greatly depending on the condition, location, frequency of maintenance, etc of your vehicles finish.  Luckily for us islanders, our paints won't be subjected to harsh elements like on the mainland such as snow, sleet and road salt.

Like any product, SmartWax will work optimally on a clean surface, meaning it has been washed with a quality shampoo like SmartCarWash, clayed with a bar or the SmartClayBlock (more on this later) and all moderate to severe blemishes/scuffs removed with a quality polish or cleaner prior to the wax application.  The surface you apply SmartWax on should be glass smooth to the touch.  There should be no sound or roughness when you run your finger tips over the surface.

The finish you get after applying the wax is only as good as the surface you apply it to.  The cleaner and smoother the surface is, the wetter and deeper your paint will look once the wax is applied.  Another important thing to note is that the cleaner the surface is, the better the product will absorb and adhere to the surface, resulting in a longer lasting coat of protection and shine.

Which brings us to the final note on this post:  One of the most common questions about wax(any wax), and I've been guilty of asking this myself in the past, is 'how long will it last?'.

The answer?  It'll last as long as you are willing to maintain and care for it.  The key word here being 'maintain'.  No two cars are alike and no two paint jobs are subjected to the same environment.  There is no cookie cutter definition or time frame that any product can claim, whether it's 6 months, 1 year or 5 years, since all cars are exposed to different climates, environments and cared for just as differently.

To put it simply, it's like going to a shoe store to buy new shoes and asking the salesperson how long those new pair of shoes will last.  The answer to that question is the same as for waxes and car care products: how and how often will you be using it, and how well will you be caring for it?

Obviously, the better you care for it and the less you subject it to abuse, the longer it will last.  Occasional basic maintenance is far better and productive for keeping that 'just waxed' feel than waxing only twice a year with tons of car washes in between.

Now that the SmartWax Hawaii blog is up and running(not without a lot of trial and error and a lot of learning on the fly - I thought blog was supposed to be simple...?), I wanted to see and figure out what the best direction for taking the blog would be.

As more people 'follow'(I hope...), I'm hoping that I will be able to get some feedback, questions, suggestions that can be addressed or answered here.  After all, that's what blogs are for, right?  I'm hoping that as content grows, readership will too, which ultimately will add to more content, and so on and so forth.

In the meantime, I thought it would be best to start off by introducing the SmartWax product line and defining what the whole SmartWax 'evolution in car care' principle is all about.

It will be kept simple and brief for anyone to be able to learn about it without being overwhelmed.  The beauty of the entire SmartWax line is its simplicity and ease of use.  As any good blog would have it, any questions, comments or feedback are more than welcome here so please feel free to chime in.

Welcome and Aloha!

You've stumbled upon the very first blog post of SmartWax Hawaii!

So due to the slow but steady growth of SmartWax here in the islands, we've finally decided to step into the 'now' by creating a blog.  We hope to keep everyone updated on the finest and easiest line of premium car care products that are available on the market today.

Over the last couple of years, we've grown our business here in the islands with the support of the grass roots movement of hardcore car enthusiasts, detailers and people who just love detailing their pride and joy(yes, some people actually ENJOY it, finding it therapeutic, even).

Thanks to our growing network of retail vendors who not only sell but use and believe in the SmartWax product line, we have been able to get the word out slowly but surely through the good 'ol fashioned, time proven advertising method of WOM(word of mouth).

And from what we can tell, it has helped tremendously in getting SmartWax products into more hands of more enthusiasts, which means more nice and clean cars!

I believe it's simply because the trusted word of a friend, brother/sister, aunty/uncle, co-worker, mailman carries its weight in gold.  Someone that you know and trust saying that they tried a product and loved it means 100 times more to someone than any advertisement or webpage.
